I'm a Science teacher at Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. I started using processing while teaching my Pre-Engineering classes, Electronics with Micro-controllers and Physical Computing, and it's use in those classes led our programming club to using it. I have very little formal education in computer science. The only actual course work I have was in BASIC on an Apple IIe and FORTRAN, which I took while a mechanical engineering student in the early '90s. I only point this out to let you know where I'm coming from. I've learned many of the standard conventions for writing code, but not all of them. Everything I've learned I've learned through exploration and play. This is also how I try to teach my students. You can find me all over the web, just check my Google+ Profile. |
